NDIS & DISABILITY SUPPORT SECTOR

Insurance for NDIS providers, arranged by people who understand the sector.

Whether you’re a sole-trader support worker, a growing SIL provider or an allied health practice, you’re expected to hold the right insurance — and to prove it, fast, when auditors, participants or plan managers ask. We arrange cover built around how NDIS providers actually work, and issue certificates of currency when you need them.

WHAT WE ARRANGE

Cover that matches your registration and your risk

CORE REQUIRMENT

Professional indemnity

Protection against claims arising from the supports and advice you provide — a cover NDIS providers are expected to hold, and one auditors and intermediaries routinely ask to see.

CORE REQUIREMENT

Public liability

Cover if a participant, family member or member of the public is injured, or property is damaged, in connection with your services — in their home, your premises or the community.

CARE DELIVERY

Medical malpractice

For providers delivering personal care, clinical supports or allied health, this responds to claims of injury arising from treatment or care — often packaged with professional indemnity.

SAFEGUARDING

Abuse & molestation cover

A difficult subject, handled frankly: policies for care providers can include or exclude cover for abuse allegations. We check the wording, because this is precisely where cheap policies fall short.

YOUR ORGANISATION

Management liability

Protects directors and the entity against claims over employment practices, workplace investigations and regulatory matters — increasingly relevant as providers grow their teams.

PARTICIPANT DATA

Cyber insurance

You hold some of the most sensitive personal information there is. Cover for data breaches, ransomware and scams, plus support meeting notification obligations if something goes wrong.

ON THE ROAD

Commercial motor

Vehicles used to transport participants or travel between clients need business-use cover — personal car insurance can leave you exposed. We make sure the use is declared properly.

PREMISES & KIT

Property & contents

Offices, therapy rooms, SIL properties’ contents, hoists, therapy equipment and technology — covered at your premises and, where needed, in participants’ homes.

YOUR PEOPLE

Personal accident & volunteers

Cover options for contractors and volunteers who fall outside workers compensation, so the people delivering your supports are looked after too.

WHY IT MATTERS

Three moments NDIS providers call us

icon-1-new3

Our audit is next month and they want our certificates

Registration audits check that your insurance matches your registration groups and scale. We review what you hold against what you do, close any gaps, and have certificates of currency to your auditor quickly.

A participant was injured during a support

An incident involving a participant is stressful on every level. We manage the claim and the insurer so you can focus on the participant, your worker and your incident-reporting obligations.

We're growing — new services, new staff, new houses

Adding SIL properties, new registration groups or a bigger team changes your risk. We review cover as you grow so your policies keep up with your NDIS registration, not last year’s version of it.

COMMON QUESTIONS

NDIS provider insurance FAQs

What insurance does an NDIS provider need?

Most providers need professional indemnity and public liability as the foundation, with covers like medical malpractice, motor, cyber and management liability added depending on the supports you deliver, how you deliver them, and whether you’re registered. The right combination depends on your registration groups and your actual day-to-day work — which is exactly what we work through with you before recommending anything.

I'm an unregistered provider working with plan-managed participants. Do I still need insurance?

In practice, yes. Even where registration rules don’t apply, plan managers, support coordinators and participants themselves commonly require evidence of professional indemnity and public liability before engaging you — and the risks of the work exist regardless of registration status. Sole-trader cover is generally straightforward and affordable to arrange.

Does my policy cover me driving participants in my car?

Only if your motor policy is set up for it. Transporting participants is business use, and a standard private-use car policy may not respond. If driving participants is part of your service, tell us — we’ll make sure the vehicle cover matches the use, and look at how your liability covers interact with it.

What is abuse cover and do I need it?

Policies for care providers treat allegations of abuse differently — some include defence costs and liability cover, others exclude it entirely. Given the safeguarding focus of the NDIS, it’s an area where policy wording matters enormously. We review it explicitly on every care-sector placement so you know exactly where you stand.

Can you provide certificates of currency for audits and service agreements?

Yes — quickly. Audits, service agreements, SIL property owners and plan managers all ask for them, usually at short notice. Once your cover is placed through us, certificates are something we handle as a matter of course.

Our premium jumped at renewal. Can you review it?

This is one of the most common calls we get from providers. Care-sector premiums have moved a lot in recent years, but that doesn’t mean your current price or cover is the best available. We’ll review what you hold, compare the market, and give you a straight answer — even if that answer is that your current policy stacks up.
